DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – There’s good news when it comes to the state of Alabama and the risk of Coronavirus.
The Alabama’s COVID-19 Risk Indicator Dashboard was once covered with reds and oranges. As of August 17, it now has much more green and yellow. Greens and yellows indicating a low to medium risk of Covid-19 spreading in those counties.
For the Wiregrass — Barbour, Coffee, Covington and Dale county are all “low risk.” the ADPH says new cases have been declining in those areas for two weeks or more, visits for symptoms of the virus are declining, and testing goals are being met.
Geneva, Houston, and Henry counties are at a moderate risk. For Henry and Houston counties, the percent positive cases haven’t been declining as much as desired, and for Geneva that decline is less than two weeks.
The only county in the red in our area is Pike County. That’s considered a “Very High” risk zone. New cases have only been declining 1 to 6 days there.
There’s also good news for hot spots like Huntsville, Mobile, Birmingham, and Montgomery. all their counties are in the green are listed as low risk.
