BIRMINGHAM, AL — While colleges and universities are trying to navigate the changes presented almost daily amid the COVID-19 pandemic, college sports have taken a hit, and have been tweaked numerous times to adhere to new safety guidelines. The SEC this week released its new 2020 football schedule, along with Conference USA.

As well, the Magic City Classic announced its new date, proving that this coming school year will be a strange one, especially when it comes to sports.

Also in the news, a Hoover doctor and his co-conspirators in a pill mill scheme were sentenced by a federal judge this week, ending a nearly 2-year ordeal involving illegal activity with Care Complete Medical Clinic.

Police believe they have found the body of Marilane Carter, a Kansas wife and mother who was reported missing August 1 when she left her Overland Park, Kansas, home to drive to Birmingham.
