Chandler City Council approved the Aug. 4 election results that will have two newcomers—Christine Ellis and OD Harris—take seats on the council with returning incumbent Mark Stewart on Jan. 14.
Ellis was the top vote-getter with 26,171 votes, or 19.09% of the total vote. Ellis makes history as the first Black woman elected to the Chandler City Council. Harris received 23,227 votes, or 16.94% of the total vote, and Stewart received 23,794 votes, or 17.36% of the total vote.
The results are now official as they have been approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Chandler City Council.
