HD South in Gilbert will reopen Sept. 1 after a two-month closure for maintenance work on the 107-year-old building, which was the original Gilbert Elementary School. The work was to shore up and reframe the stairs to the basement. The historical museum and cultural arts space will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
