Ohio – More than 2 dozen Lorain County 911 dispatch employees tested for COVID-19 after positive case

ELYRIA, Ohio — More than two dozen employees at Lorain County’s 911 dispatch center, located in Elyria, were tested for COVID-19 Friday after one person at the facility tested positive on Wednesday, according to county officials.

The Lorain County Board of Health conducted the COVID-19 tests and sent them to the Ohio Board of Health, officials said.

No other employees are showing any symptoms and operations at the 911 dispatch center have not been impacted, according to county leaders.

“The health department is obviously doing the contact tracing. The health department has informed us that it has basically asked to quarantine some family members and friends of the family, but they have not given us any direction to quarantine any of our employees,” said Matt Lundy, Lorain County Commissioner.

Lundy said that test results for the two dozen employees should be available sometime on Saturday.
