Deal is part of its annual Salute to Brevard celebration

From October 12-18, residents can get tickets for $19 (adults) and $14 (children)

Visitors are encouraged to bring canned goods that will be donated to those in need

As part of the complex’s Salute to Brevard celebration, from October 12-18, residents can purchase tickets for only $19 for adults and $14 for children ages 3-11.

The ticket includes a full day admission into the complex, which features the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, Space Shuttle Atlantis, the Rocket Garden, and other exhibits.

During the weeklong celebration, Kennedy Space Center is encouraging visitors to bring canned goods, nonperishable food items, hygiene products, and baby formula, which will be donated to help those in need.

“Salute to Brevard is our favorite time of the year here at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex,” chief operating officer Therrin Protze said in a statement. “We get to invite our neighbors in to explore space and collect supplies for Brevard County Sharing at the same time.”

To get the ticket discount, visitors will need to show proof of Brevard County residency through either a driver’s license or a utility bill. Tickets must be purchased at the complex on the day of the visit. Only the person purchasing the discount tickets has to be a Brevard resident.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex temporarily closed in mid-March in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Since reopening, the complex has implemented a number of health and safety measures such as attendance limits and social distancing protocols. Visitors will be required to wear face coverings and undergo a temperature check.
