BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County has reported 173 cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florida Department of Health.

According to the Florida Department of Health, the demographic breakdown of the age of those testing positive ranges from 1 to 94, with the median age being 52 years of age, and 50 percent are male and 50 percent are female.

The current Brevard list includes 166 Florida residents and seven non-residents.

COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization is 39. Six deaths have been reported as a result of COVID-19 in Brevard County, including three since Sunday.

The Florida Department of Health reports 3,376 tests have been administered in Brevard County. According to the Wednesday report, 3,198 of those tests have come back negative.

While Florida’s testing has increased, the percent of those testing positive for COVID-19 overall is 10.5-percent.

The Florida Department of Health has reported a total of 22,519 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state with 3,249 hospitalized.

Deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Florida are 614 as of Wednesday evening.

In the U.S., 639,894 cases have been reported and 28,430 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19. Global cases reported are 2,060,927 with 130,528 global deaths.
