The state reported hospitalizations fell by 110 over two days to 941. Hospitalizations are considered a key metric in determining the trajectory of the infection. Twenty fewer patients were on ventilators Sunday for a total of 152.

Sunday’s numbers include two days of data. Saturday is the only day the Louisiana Department of Health doesn’t provide a daily update.

The agency reported 1,223 new cases over the weekend for a total of 142,943.

Fifty-nine new deaths were reported for a total of 4,605.
