La. Commissioner announces closure of state offices ahead of Hurricane Laura

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – As chances for bad weather increase throughout the state, Louisiana Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne announced the closure of all state offices on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Aug. 27.

The Commissioner says all agency heads are responsible for determining what essential personnel should remain on duty or report to alternate work sites when needed.

The closure of offices applies to all employees that are considered nonessential, including state employees that are working from home due to COVID-19.

Employees in areas that are under evacuation orders should seek further instruction from their supervisors.

The office of the commissioner says all employees in affected parishes, not limited to those working from home, should use the Office Closure code (LSOC) beginning Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at 6 p.m.

State workers should be aware of the following numbers to call, which will be updated: 1.800.360.9660 or 225.342.0498.
