For the second time in August, La Crosse County has over 20 cases of COVID-19 in a day.
Thursday’s total was 21, according to state data. The rise could be from Monday’s free National Guard testing site.
The total cases puts La Crosse at 1,008 total cases.
In surrounding counties, Trempealeau added 3 new cases and is now at 391, including 50 active but none hospitalized.
Monroe is now up to 258 total cases, after adding five more Thursday. There are 14 active cases, including three hospitalized.
Winona added two new cases and is now at 286 total.
Vernon added two cases — women aged 10-19, and another in their 50s. The county has 82 total cases, 13 of those active but none in the hospital.
Buffalo added one case and is now at 50 total with six active.
Houston remains at 63 with no new cases. There are 17 active, including one still hospitalized.
Wisconsin: 68,233 cases, 5,469 hospitalizations, 1,067 deaths
Minnesota: 67,308 cases, 6,019 hospitalizations, 1,745 deaths
Iowa: 54,533 cases, 1,016 deaths
Statewide, Wisconsin added another 740 cases, 39 hospitalizations and seven deaths. Wisconsin has had 133 deaths in August. The July death toll was 154. There have been 832 hospitalizations in August. In July there were 1,217.
Minnesota also reports seven deaths, after a two-month high of 17 occurred yesterday. The state also reported another 698 new cases and 31 hospitalizations. The state has had 864 hospitalizations so far in August as compared to 1,010 in July.
Iowa data shows 257 cases, five deaths over a 24-hour period ending Thursday. The state has had 29 deaths the past three days.
