Devontae Booker cleared to return from COVID-19 list

With still two days left before the deadline for players to opt out for the season, a third Raiders player has decided to forego the season for COVID-19 concerns.

Linebacker Ukeme Eligwe has opted out of the season, joining cornerback D.J. Killings and defensive end Jeremiah Valoaga.

While one more player is leaving the building for COVID-19 reasons, one is returning after having tested positive.

On report day last week newly added running back Devontae Booker tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the reserve list. As of today, he has been cleared and activated by the team, allowing him to join his teammates at the facility in Henderson Nevada for the first time.

Last week, Jon Gruden was feeling pretty good about things. He said he hadn’t heard of any players testing positive or opting out for COVID-19. The good news is the only player who did test positive is back and the three who have opted out were not projected starters.

The deadline for opting out is Thursday at 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. ET).
