When will Maxx Crosby be cleared from Raiders’ coronavirus list? – Marin Independent Journal

The Raiders held their first practice in front of the media Wednesday at their new practice facility and Maxx Crosby was not present.

Two offensive mainstays, Josh Jacobs and Trent Brown, didn’t practice either during an indoor session in Henderson, Nevada.

Crosby went on the COVID-19 reserve list six days ago and won’t practice until he’s cleared by two negative tests.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden, addressing the media for the first time since Crosby went on the list, shed no light on his status in which will likely be team policy going forward.

“I don’t have any update on that,” Gruden told reporters via Zoom teleconference. “I try not to make any predictions. I don’t speculate when it comes to the virus. Hopefully he’s back soon, though.”

As for Jacobs and Brown, Gruden hinted it was all part of the plan. Both players ended the 2019 season on injured reserve, Jacobs with a fractured shoulder and Brown to a torn pectoral.

“This is a strange schedule, this is a strange training camp, so there will be some strange things going on,” Gruden said. “It gives us an opportunity to look at some players in this limited amount of time we want to look at ’em.”
