Here’s what we know about COVID-19 in Oklahoma City metro area schools

Sept. 4: Fifteen new cases were discovered in Mustang schools, and 194 people were in active quarantines, according to the district’s weekly report. New cases were discovered at the following schools: one at the Mustang Education Center, four at Mustang High School, one at Mustang Middle School, one at Mustang Central Middle School, one at Prairie View Elementary and one from the district administration.

Aug. 28: Mustang Public Schools issued a weekly report after the first week of school that showed 22 known cases across the following schools: eight at Mustang High School, two at Mustang Middle School, one at Mustang North Middle School, one at Canyon Ridge Intermediate School, one at Meadow Brook Intermediate School, one at Centennial Elementary, one at Trails Elementary, one at Riverwood Elementary, one at the Mustang Education Center and five from the district administration. The district reported 119 quarantines since Aug. 10. 

Norman Public Schools

Sept. 18: Seven staff members and 13 students at Norman High School tested positive from Sept. 12-18, according to a district report. Four staff members and 17 students at Norman North High School tested positive that week. Norman reported new cases at the following schools, as well: two students at Cleveland Elementary, one staff member at Eisenhower Elementary, two students at Jefferson Elementary, one employee at Lakeview Elementary, one staff member at Lincoln Elementary, one student at Madison Elementary, one staff member at McKinley Elementary, one staff member and five students at Reagan Elementary, two staff members at Truman Elementary, one staff member at Truman Primary, two students at Washington Elementary, one at Alcott Middle School, one employee and one student at Irving Middle School, and one staff member at Longfellow Middle School.

Sept. 11: One staff member and 14 students at Norman High School tested positive for COVID-19 during the week of Sept. 5-11, according to a weekly report from the district. Eighteen employees and 98 students are in quarantine. The report also identified positive cases from a staff member and student at Eisenhower Elementary, an employee at Reagan Elementary, a student at Roosevelt Elementary, a student at Irving Middle School and two students at Norman North High School.

Sept. 10: Norman Public Schools confirmed six new cases at Reagan Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, Norman High School and Norman North High School, according to a Norman Transcript report. The cases came from four students and two staff members.

Sept. 7: The Norman Transcript reported a student at Kennedy Elementary and a student at Eisenhower Elementary tested positive, according to emails from district administrators.

Sept. 2: The Crosstown Clash football game between Norman and Norman North High School was canceled after the district found individuals in the Norman High School football program had tested positive or been exposed to COVID-19.
