Here are six things you should know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.

1.MCGIRT GOES TO COURT: The man at the center of the U.S. Supreme Court case on tribal jurisdiction in Oklahoma will go before a federal judge. Jimcy McGirt has been charged with five federal counts of ‘aggravated sexual abuse in Indian country.’ His hearing is set for Wednesday afternoon in Muskogee.

2.CITY MASK MANDATE: The Tulsa City Council will discuss lowering the age requirement for the mask mandate for those under 18. They will meet at 2:30 p.m. and will also discuss a ‘crisis care model’ for the city amid the pandemic.

3.JUSTICE GINSBURG LAID TO REST: A private ceremony for the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be held in the morning. Afterward, she will lie in repose at the Supreme Court. Justice Ginsburg died Friday after a battle with cancer at age 87.

4.PEARL HARBOR SAILOR RETURNS HOME: An Oklahoma sailor killed during the World War II attacks on Pearl Harbor will be laid to rest. Fireman First Class James Webb died aboard the USS Oklahoma in 1941 and his remains were recently identified with DNA. He will be buried in the town of Dale in Pottawatomie County.

5.FREE COVID-19 TESTS: The University of Tulsa will offer free COVID-19 testing for all students, faculty, staff and community members. You can schedule your appointment at this website.

6.NEW BOTANICAL PROJECT: The Tulsa Botanical Garden will announce its next major project in the morning. Mayor G.T. Bynum will also be on hand for the announcement on the Garden’s future. That will happen at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
