NORMAN — The city of Norman is offering a COVID-19 Rental and Utility Assistance Program to aid residents experiencing loss of employment due to the pandemic crisis.
Program assistance can be used to cover payments for rent and utilities at OG&E, OEC, ONG and the City of Norman, which have resumed terminations on delinquent accounts.
The city’s program is targeted to help households that have been directly affected by a significant loss or lapse of earned income directly attributed to the COVID-19. To qualify, applicants must currently live in Norman and have an income of 80% or below the Median Family Income for Norman, which varies depending on household size.
Applicants already receiving any type of rental assistance, including Section 8, Public Housing, SSVF or CoC Permanent Supportive Housing are ineligible for this program. However, an adjustment to rental subsidy by these providers is available due to reduction of income.
