Pam Pollard, Republican National Committeewoman for Oklahoma, expressed confidence that Oklahomans will overwhelmingly support Trump this year just like they did four years ago when he carried all of the state’s 77 counties. However, she expressed concerns about Republicans winning Oklahoma County, which is blue and getting bluer as the county becomes younger and more diverse.
“Our threat is right here in Oklahoma County,” she said. “There’s a chance Trump will not win Oklahoma County.”
Republicans and Democrats alike are eyeing Oklahoma County this election season because the high-profile congressional race between U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Stephanie Bice will be on the ballot in addition to state and county races.
