Regal Entertainment owner Cineworld Group will begin reopening its movie theaters Friday following a five-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Of the three Regal theaters in the Oklahoma City metro area, the Regal Warren Moore 4DX & IMAX will open first on Friday. It will be showing a lineup of classics movies including “Back to the Future,” “Black Panther,” “Bloodshot,” “Deadpool,” “Inception,” “Jaws,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Unforgiven” and “The Goonies”; the independent films “Tulsa,” “Words on Bathroom Walls” and “Cut Throat City”; and the thriller “Unhinged,” the first wide theatrical release since the U.S. COVID-19 outbreak began in March.
Norman’s Regal Spotlight is scheduled to reopen Aug. 28.
No date has been provided for the reopening of the Midwest City Warren Theatre; it is designated on the Regal website as “coming soon.”
Safety protocols Regal Theatres are implementing for the reopening include required masks for patrons and staff, greeters to assist guests with procedural changes, socially distanced seating, reduced capacity in auditoriums, and a limited menu. To see the full list of safety measures, click here.
