A new “thank you” candy bar from Yinzer Greetings honors and benefits area frontline workers.

AMBRIDGE — As a way to thank essential workers during COVID-19, Pittsburgh Yinzer Greetings, creator of Yinzer Cards and Yinzer Bars, will donate the sales proceeds of a new candy bar.

The wrappers on these “Thank You” bars includes the message, “Thank you to all the heroes among us,” accompanied by an illustration of medical workers, a grocery store employee and other front-line workers. Award-winning cartoonist Rob Rogers did the artwork.

Thank You Yinzer Bar will sell for $2.99 for a limited time at the Ambridge Do-It-Best home center, and Giant Eagle and Market Districts in Allegheny County

Sales will benefit Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation’s (PEMF) Pandemic Grant Program that provides much-needed supplies to healthcare workers and first responders throughout Western Pennsylvania.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is heinous and exponentially bigger than anything we’ve ever experienced,” said Yinzer Cards and Yinzer Bars co-founder and Pittsburgh comedian Jim Krenn. “A collective effort has been required to help all of us get through this crisis.

“That starts with supporting our frontline healthcare workers and our effort to create the ‘Thank You’ Yinzer Bar and donation of the sales proceeds is a small gesture of our gratitude for their hard work and dedication.”

Yinzer Bars are produced in partnership with Canonsburg-based Sarris Candies.
