Metro reports 107 new cases, 1 additional death

Tennessee reports 1,805 new cases, 25 additional deaths in 24 hours

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro health officials reported 107 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday morning, bringing Davidson County’s total number of cases ever reported to 24,143.

Of the total number of cases, 24,067 are confirmed and 21,095 Nashvillians are now considered recovered from the virus. As of August 16, there are 2,837 active cases in Metro Nashville.

One additional coronavirus-related death was reported on Sunday, a 23-year-old man with existing health conditions. Metro health officials have attributed a total of 211 deaths to COVID-19.

Over the last week, the Tennessee Health Department has reported lower daily new cases, but the state had a record-breaking week in new hospitalizations reported.
